The short answer: anyone you want!

The long answer: While my base rate includes the couple, I’m happy to add as many additional people you want to your painting. I charge a per person fee for people beyond the couple, as people are what take the longest to get right. Whether it’s family members, friends, loved ones who couldn’t attend, or even your pets, we can include anyone you’d like. (I would really love to paint your dog!!!) When you reach out for a quote, let me know how many people you’d like to add in so I can give you an accurate quote up front.

Your live painting will not be finished live at your wedding. By the end of the night, you should expect big picture background items do be done, and the couple to be recognizable. I will take your painting home to do a studio finish, and that is a benefit of working with me. This allows me to add in more details, make any color corrections, and generally ensure that I am proud of your painting. It’s not done until I’m proud of it and it meets my expectations. Then, I will put a protective varnish on it, and you can either come pick it up, or I can ship it to you. You can expect your painting to take four to eight weeks to complete.

Note: Any additional people you want in your painting will likely be added in the studio, although if it’s only a couple people, I will likely start them onsite.

Yes! That’s why I’m here 🙂 If you wanted a photograph of an exact scene, you wouldn’t need me. My job is to consider the composition of the painting and make sure you are the focus of it, and to make sure it includes the elements of your wedding that are most meaningful to you. I can move people and modify spaces to make your painting look its best. 

Absolutely! I’ll take reference photos and videos with my phone so I can paint anything you want me to paint wherever you want me to paint it. I have moved locations up to three times at one event, and it’s not a problem 🙂

You’ll want to let your venue coordinator/wedding planner know that you’re working with me so they can prepare. You will also need to make sure you have a vendor meal for me, as I will spend 8+ hours onsite.

I will reach out to your planner/coordinator to make sure we are all on the same page for my set-up and what I’ll need. In general, all I need is a 4’x6′ space and access to water. I will bring everything else 🙂

If you just want the painting and don’t care about the live entertainment part, you should consider a commission. I can make any modifications in a commission project that I can make in a live painting. If it’s all about the big day and having something special on the day of, then you want a live painter. If you get your wedding photos back and there’s one you’d really like painted, then you should commission it. If you are unsure of what you want, we should talk! I’m happy to provide guidance and bounce ideas back and forth.

Will I give you some sort of bundle discount if you do a live painting AND a commission? You bet. I want to help you fill your home with original art that is meaningful to you.
